Legislative Luncheon This Fridaylegislativelunch

The Chamber and North Iowa Corridor EDC are hosting a  Business Leaders Legislative Luncheon  from  Noon-1PM  on  Friday, April 7  at the Commerce Center.

Guest speakers will be John Stineman from the Iowa Chamber Alliance and Craig Patterson from Professional Developers of Iowa. Stineman and Patterson will share their perspective on new and pending legislation and the potential impacts to business and industry. 
 
All chamber members and NICEDC investors are invited to attend. Please sign up in advance by calling 423.5724 or e-mailing the Chamber. The cost is $5 for lunch.



Lunch & Learn - April 11lunchlearn

U.S. Cellular will host the  Lunch & Learn  "The Next Big Thing in Wireless!" on  April 11 .  This is an educational class on various wireless business solutions. These gadgets can monitor just about anything, and U.S. Cellular will explain how to use them effectively in your business.

College Connectionsconnections

Does your business employ summer interns? We want to connect young workers to the community and to each other by offering a FREE summer intern program,  College Connections. Chamber members are encouraged to enroll their interns in this valuable networking opportunity at no charge (the non-member price is $100/intern).
 
College Connections provides a series of social and educational activities on a once-a-week schedule throughout the summer,  June 1 - July 27, 2017. Chamber members will serve as "Lunch & Learn" speakers on a variety of topics relevant to college students and new graduates. Sessions also include social activities and popular area recreational activities.

April is 'Town in Tennies' month in Mason City. Worksites are encouraged to move naturally by allowing employees to wear tennis shoes in the workplace. The Blue Zones Project office is happy to supply posters, newsletter articles, and ideas for on-site programs for those interested.
