MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

The Prince Rupert & District Chamber of Commerce continues to work hard to be a representative as the voice of business. Our monthly luncheons, business-after-business networking events, all-candidates debates and discussion facilitations are just a few examples of how we are working for you. The Fall is now upon us and the social calendars are filling up. Remember to make time to stay informed, to be informed and to inform.

Is there information you would like to see or something you would like to learn about? Please drop me an email

OCTOBER CHAMBER LUNCH

Join the Prince Rupert and District Chamber of Commerce at our October Luncheon.

In Collaboration with the BC Chamber of Commerce we have a presentation from Brian Lee Crowley, Managing Director of the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, a national public policy think tank based in Ottawa.

One of the hottest issues in the natural resource economy as well as for major project proponents in any field today is 'social licence': who has it, who needs it, who can get it. But what if social licence has become a Trojan horse, giving project opponents powerful but undemocratic authority to obstruct economic development and defy the law and our legitimate institutions? And what can be done about it? Come and hear Brian Lee Crowley, head of the Macdonald-Laurier Institute and Canada's leading commentator on social licence.

WHEN: Tuesday October 27, 2015
TIME: 11:45 am - 1:30 pm
WHERE: North Coast Convention Centre
