May 2018 Rice Lake Chamber of Commerce Newsletter

WAGE AND BENEFIT SURVEY
We have received many requests over the past year for a county - wide wage report and have been working with a consultant for the last few months to create a wage survey. Below is a link to the survey which will be open until
Sunday, May 6th.
Please let me know if you come across any issues completing it and they will be corrected. Once its closed, the consultant will compile a report
(there will be no company specific data included in  the report) and it will be sent to all who participated in the survey.
We need to get as much participation
for a comprehensive survey.
To take the survey click on the link  HERE

2018 Western & Central Wisconsin Wage Survey - You are invited to participate!
New regions added for 2018! Central Wisconsin will now be represented in this survey, so the survey name was changed from the Chippewa Valley & Coulee Region Wage Survey to the Western & Central Wisconsin Wage Survey.

The survey was distributed the week of March 12, due back by May 18 and is published in mid-July.  We are proud to be covering employers from nine chambers of commerce including Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, La Crosse, Marshfield, Menomonie, Portage County, Rice Lake, Wausau, and Wisconsin Rapids.  Also involved are the local chapters of Society of Human Resource Management in the Chippewa Valley, La Crosse, Wausau & Winona.
We need area employers to contribute their data in order to keep the wage survey viable and relevant; data is kept confidential. We have made it easy to participate, so please review the instructions and complete the forms.
All documents for survey participation is on the
Eau Claire Area's Chamber website

There is a minimal cost to receive the report when it is available in mid-July, and Chamber or CVSHRM membership qualifies businesses for discounted pricing!

If you have any questions, please contact Casey Schumacher with the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce via
email  or by phone (715-858-0614).

Bert's Joke of the Month

Subject:
Old golfers....

Four old men went into the pro shop after playing 18 holes of golf.
The pro asked, "Did you guys have a good game today?"
The first old guy said, "Yes, I had th ree riders today."
The second old guy said, "I had the most riders ever. I had five."
The third old guy said, "I had seven riders, the same as last time."
The last old man said, "I beat my old record. I had 12 riders today."
After they went into the locker room, another golfer who had heard the old guys talking about their game went to the pro and said, "I've been playing golf for a long time and thought I knew all the terminology of the game, but what's a rider?"
The pro said, "A rider is when you hit the ball far enough to actually get in the golf cart
and ride to it."
