Welcome to the May Change Food newsletter!  We apologize for our slight absence but we are back and we are working on some very exciting things - so read on!

Change Food Facing Factory Farms Salon

Hog Factory Farm

If you're in or around New York City on June 16th, please join TEDxManhattan 2015 speakers Kendra Kimbirauskas and Michele Merkel at our Change Food Facing Factory Farms Salon to discuss how we can combat factory farms. Kendra and Michele will show their talks and discuss the realities behind factory farms and explore the disconnect between the "good food" movement and the farm crisis in rural America.

More importantly, we will be using the salon as a template that others can replicate.
We want to encourage key people, like you, to put on local gatherings and events using videos from the Change Food Video Library. How would you host such an event? How can we use these educational videos in the Change Food Library to raise awareness across the country and world?

This salon is interactive so please come armed with ideas and suggestions on how we can educate the urban food movement and activate more people around factory farm issues?

There are only a few spots left so please sign up and get your ticket here!

Change Food Library and Educational Kits

We are excited to announce  that we've soft launched the Change Food Library. It is an incredible resource for people looking to learn more about food and farming. You can search by topic or speaker to find videos on a variety of subjects. We are in the process of developing educational kits for the videos that will feature discussion questions as well as links to relevant organizations, publications, social media channels and much more.

Quickbites
We are in the process of launching  Quickbites ,  a video series featuring short snippets from key people in the food movement who answer questions relevant to today's food system. We are encouraging everyone to spread them through so cial media channels so we can use them as quick educational tools.

Stay tuned for more next month!  Check out our first few Quickbites here .
TEDxManhattan has been retired.

We're sorry to say, though a bit excited too, that TEDxManhattan has been retired. After 6 years and 5 amazing events, both TED and licensee Diane Hatz agreed that TEDxManhattan had become so successful it had gone beyond the boundaries of the TEDx program. Change Food events are not and will not be affiliate with TED or TEDx. You can see the official announcement here

Though we are sad to see it go, we are ecstatic about all the opportunities headed our way. We will fill you in on details about new projects as soon as we can.

See you in June but until then, stay hungry and most importantly, eat well!

Diane, Erica and Caitlin
