Loads of newness at BCTV:

Separate events: Annual Meeting & Producer Awards
Save the Dates!
We've got a lot to catch up on - and two chances to do it this fall.
What's different: This year we are separating our "annual members meeting" from the "producer awards party." In the past, we've had one giant Annual Meeting extravaganza. This year, we're going to try splitting it up so there's more time to focus on board elections and member business at one, and to have more of a producer focus at the other. Here are the details:

BCTV Annual Members Meeting
When: Wednesday, September 27 at 6:00 PM
Where: Room 306 of the Brattleboro Municipal Center (third floor).
Who: All BCTV members and nonprofit members; only those who are individual members as of August 28 may vote in in the board election. The meeting is open to the public.
What: State of the Station Report, Board Elections. If you can't attend, you will be able to vote by e-ballot and submit comments and questions beforehand or live via Twitter. Member comments and questions will be welcome throughout the meeting.
Board elections: There are four open at-large seats. To be eligible for election, you must be at least 18 years old and be a member of BCTV prior to August 28. Submit a brief Candidate Statement to [email protected] by Friday, September 8 at 5 PM.

BCTV Producer Awards Party - Bring your Fans!
When:  Thursday, November 2nd at 6:00 PM
Where: 118 Elliot (at 118 Elliot Street) in Brattleboro.
Who: BCTV producers, members, and fans. Open to the public.
What: Dinner, Cash Bar, Producer Awards, Videos.

Website & graphics relaunch
No doubt you've noticed a major upgrade to brattlebortv.org since it was relaunched in June. The big changes:
  • 100% mobile-friendly and responsive to mobile devices
  • Use search bar to find what you want in seconds
  • Create your producer account and manage videos at new Producer Hub
  • Pull-out side menu makes it easy to navigate on any device.
Let us know if you find any dead links, errors or omissions. We are always working to improve the user experience and to keep the site looking its best.

At the same time, we updated our logo and graphics to be more "techie" and to express the community conversation at the heart of BCTV's mission.
New Content Manager/Tech Director
Last week we bid farewell to Jeff Mastroianni after five years as Content Manager. Jeff now works for an AV company that installs high-end systems all over New England. After an intense hiring process involving many well-qualified candidates, Nolan Edgar was hired as the new "Content Manager/Tech Director." The position name changed to reflect the importance of having technical skills to assist BCTV producers and be part of our staff production crew, as well as the organizational skills to keep up with scheduling programs.

Nolan is well known to BCTV as he's been a volunteer since he was 16 years old. His technical background includes the Film program at Windham Regional Career Center, years of experience at MondoMediaworks, and as one of BCTV's field staff covering meetings, our news show, and guest directing for the Brattleboro Selectboard Meeting. He is a graduate of Leland & Gray High School and currently enrolled at Greenfield Community College in Graphic Design.

Thanks to Jeff for all his hard work, professionalism, and especially for bringing his audio skills to improve that aspect of our productions. And welcome, Nolan!
