The Box Meal Plan: March 27th

Swiss chard with beets, goat cheese and golden raisins

-Chard and beet tops taste almost exactly the same, so it only makes sense to combine the two in the same dish. This dish has all the flavors you could possibly imagine: earthy, sweet, bitter,  sour, and spicy. Serve over couscous or rice for a complete meal.

Sweet Shiitake Pickle

-This recipe is a cinch and makes a flavorful topping for homemade ramen soup. Be sure to heat up the vinegar, sugar, salt, and soy sauce before pouring over the shiitakes. This will ensure the salt and sugar are properly dissolved.

Strawberry-Beet Jam

-
I love strawberries. I love beets. Why not combine them in a delicious jam?

Shredded Kohlrabi Quick Pickles

-Thanks to Root and their delicious in-house pickles, I've become obsessed and will try and pickle almost anything. Now it's kohlrabi's turn. The kohlrabi in the box is most likely only 1lb., so make sure to half the ingredients in this recipe.
