Dear Friends,
We hope your summer has been enjoyable. The studio has been busy planning upcoming new products, fall releases, and shows that are taking place around the world! Here are a few of the exciting things happening with the studio.
CHARLEY GOES TO GERMANY! Charley debuted in Hamburg Germany this summer! The exhibit "Tree of Life", at the contemporary art museum, Kunstverein Hamburg, began June 25 and runs through September 11, 2011. The positive response was incredible and we are planning to take the show on to Berlin. Stay tuned for more information.
Below you will find a quote from Martijin van Dijk, assistant curator of Kunstverein Hamburg.
'The art of Charley Harper is more than wonderful, it is genius and themain reason that we did an exhibition on Charley Harper is that it is freaking awesome to do it. His works rock!'
HARPER + OLDHAM + FISHS EDDY We are also thrilled with the outpouring of LOVE for the new Fish Tableware. Todd Oldham has adapted motifs from the 1950s fish serigraphs. With the consent of the studio, Todd Oldham along with Fishs Eddy produced this whimsical line of tableware. Look forward to a bird series to be released in the future.
If you have a moment take a look at the New York Times interview with Todd Oldham on the creation of these adorable dishes.

NEW AUCTION HIGH FOR CHARLEY HARPER PRINT!
The highest auction price for a Charley Harper serigraph print was recently realized. BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER (1960), one of the vintage silkscreens that originally appeared in Ford Times magazine, received a winning online bid for $3601 US dollars. Its initial price at the time of release was $4.50.
These are just a few of the wonderful things that have taken place in the past few months. Charley's work continues to draw interest from the art and design community. The studio is committed to preserving Charley's name and reputation as an iconic mid-century artist with lasting influence in today's modern world.
Sincerely,
The Charley Harper Art Studio
