Americans have “largely positive reactions to charter schools and vouchers,” despite being unfamiliar with the specifics of these education initiatives, a new poll by The Associated Press finds.
New York Daily News – May 17th, 2017
A record 73,000 city kids applied for seats in publicly funded, privately run charter schools in 2017, a study published Wednesday shows. That number is up 7% from the 68,000 who applied last year, according to the NYC Charter School Center. Business Insider - May 10th, 2017
There was a clear pattern running through this year's list of America's best public high schools, compiled by US News & World Report. It wasn't that four of the top five schools are located in Arizona — though that does happen to be true. It's that those four schools, and one other in seventh place, are all run by a charter school network founded by two economists nearly 20 years ago.

Charter Schools are Public Schools
My San Antonio – May 12th, 2017
At long last, there is significant momentum for funding charter school facilities this legislative session.
As lifelong San Antonians, we know the importance of quality education, especially education that prepares students for success in high school, college, trade school or community college. This is why we volunteer as board members for
KIPP San Antonio Public Schools
. Students in San Antonio and across our state deserve our involvement and our community’s support. Teachers and students can’t do it on their own.
