2012 Family Friends of Scouting Is the ocean which your unit sails on.
Over the next couple of months, district volunteers will be visiting your unit to conduct your annual Family FOS presentation. As many of you are aware, the funds we raise supports the 2012 budget. This year's Family FOS Campaign's theme is "Your Unit...Your Ship." We want you to think of your unit as a ship - a self-contained and supporting vessel. You decide the size of your ship, your program, and how you will fund your programs. Now that your unit ship has all of the resources what else do you need. What is the missing component to your ship? Yes - water! This year we want you to think of Family FOS as the ocean on which your unit ship sails. No matter how good your ship is you can't go far without an ocean. Family FOS provides funding for camps - Camp Pine Mountain, Camp FGL, Camp Gallant, the Ranger Staff, Scout Service Center - record keeping for membership, advancement and training, event registration and Scout shops where you purchase Scouting supplies, Volunteer Training - Wood Badge, Youth Protection, Position Specific, National Youth Leadership, Executive Support - District Executive to provide support, Program Development and Events & Activities - Cub Resident and Day Camps, Summer Camp, Fall Family Camp out & Scout Expo. All of these services are possible through your unit charitable gifts to our 2012 Family FOS Campaign. The deeper and larger the ocean is the more options your "ship" or unit has.
Please contact your District Executive to schedule your 2012 Family FOS presentation or sign up at ww.tinyurl.com/familyfos.
