In 1968 when lead singer Janis Joplin and her Big Brother and The Holding Company band mates where less than thrilled with the proposed album cover design provided by their record label Columbia, it was suggested that artist and fellow Haight-Ashbury resident R. Crumb of underground comics' fame might be just the guy to create a unique cover for them. That iconic album cover art; which Rolling Stone Magazine proclaimed to be one of the top ten album covers of all time, will provide the base for our new "Cheap Thrills" t-shirt collection.
