Review of Conference by the Daughter of Parents in Our Group
I have a story that is really way too long for any piece of paper it seems, but certain short steps in my life led me to a same sex relationship. I felt I had no wrong in it. I found a comfort in it. But, instead I put my parents and friends in pain. Then I was presented with a choice, an opportunity to attend the Transforming Grace Conference. Go or not to go? I agreed to go for my parents' sake.
Transforming Grace started out for me as a promise. By that I mean a promise I would go with my parents to the conference, but as I listened to the Yuan family's story it became more than just a promise that came out of my lips and became a promise of hope that came from God's lips through their testimony. It also spoke through the words of the other amazing speakers' testimonies. Beyond Imagination, alongside each speaker, really helped me to see that there are other people who struggle like me. The conference inspired me to see that, instead of just giving in to sin, I could choose to rise above and realize Jesus and His purpose are worth the fight. Also, the conference helped me to understand the people I hurt and why they were hurt. It helped me to see their side and helped my parents at least to see my side.
The conference was empowering and inspiring. It really gave transforming grace beyond my imagination and it was tons of fun. I enjoyed that along with the videos, lessons, the presentations from Christopher on Saturday (which were both personal and factual) and worship, it was full of fellowship and unity. Next year's conference is definitely a must for me.
