JAXEX High Achievers Partners with
PAL's Workforce Development Program
JaxPAL is proud to announce its partnership with JAA and JAXEX for the inaugural JAXEX High Achievers youth initiative, a component of PAL's Workforce Development program. Students will learn about various opportunities within the aviation field and participate in manyhands-on workshops. Our goal is for PAL kids to learn about careers in aviation and encourage them to reach for the stars. To see more photos click here

Gone Fishing
PAL kids have big fish stories to tell thanks to professional fisherman and JSO Lt. Steve Mullen. He and a number of JSO officers are teaching the PAL students about the sport of fishing and taking them on weekly fishing trips. Special thanks to the FOP Foundation for sponsoring the fishing poles and equipment for the Club.
PAL Kids Plant Community Garden
This year PAL is fighting childhood obesity by partnering with the NFL Play 60 to emphasis the importance of eating healthy and getting plenty of exercise. To do so, the students at the Eastside PAL are getting their hands dirty by planting a garden with veggies such as collards, radishes, swiss chard, spinach, and mustard. This hands on project has taught the kids responsibility, nutritional values and the importance of outdoor activities.

Volunteer Spotlight
Thank You to the Young PAL Volunteers!
Young PAL members and State Attorney Assistants, Chyna Makarowski and Coreylyn Crawford (pictured left), jumped right in at the Sheriff's Round-Up and volunteered their time to help make a difference in the lives of the children we serve. Thank you for helping to make the Sheriff's Round-Up such a huge success! Both of these young professionals have also volunteered to assist with coaching the PAL cheerleading squad.

We would also like to thank our newest Young PAL member Shannon Young of the Wounded Warrior Project, for assisting us with T-shirt sells at Gun n Hoses.  The success of our events and programs relies greatly on volunteer participation. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or joining Young PALs, lease visit our website and click the Get Involved tab.

Karate Champions!

The PAL Karate team competed in the Jerry Williamson Forms Karate Tournament (Kata) in February at the Jerry Williamson Martial Arts School. Three of the JaxPAL students placed in the tournament. Hunter Speight (age 9) placed 1st in the young yellow belt division. In the older yellow belt division, Makayla Couch (age 11) placed 3rd and Caleb Couch (age 9) was runner up. Each child has been training with PAL for three or more years. We are very proud of the JaxPAL Karate team and would also like thank their instructor, Mr. Gerry Pinto.
