VBCF supports legislation enabling Virginians to receive breast cancer screening and treatment regardless of insurance status or ability to pay and care for Virginians in all stages of the breast cancer journey: screening, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life care.
Thus, VBCF is closely following the latest Congressional efforts to reform health care. For a non-partisan analysis of national health reform, visit www.kff.org/health-reform/.
In addition, VBCF opposes HR 1313 which would allow companies to require employees to undergo genetic testing or risk paying a penalty of thousands of dollars and provide employers that genetic and other health information. Use CallMyCongress.com to look up your U.S. Representative and Senators and make your voice heard!
VBCF supports research initiatives aimed at understanding and eradicating breast cancer. Thus, we actively support robust funding for the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program (DOD BCRP) in the FY2018 DOD Appropriations bill.
