We are so glad you will be joining the Syracuse University community in a few short weeks! Please remember to keep checking your syr.edu email account on a regular basis, since this is the only email account SU will use to communicate with you.
Course Selection & Registration

It's time to start thinking about course selection and registration for fall 2017, but it's important to remember that every school or college does the registration process differently.  You should have received a communication from your home school or college, via postal mail or your syr.edu email with more information about the course selection and registration process.  If you haven't received this communication, you should receive it shortly.

Click here for more information about first-year course registration and transfer student course registration.

The deadline for first-year students to complete the First Term Enrollment Selection process is Thursday, June 15, 2017. Each school or college has a different deadline for completing this process as a transfer student, so pay close attention to your school or college's deadline!

If you have questions about AP/IB exams, please contact your home school or college.

Health Services
Health Services Requirements
Due by July 1

Syracuse University Health Services strives to provide you with the most comprehensive and effective health care possible. To meet this goal it is important for us to obtain an accurate health history for each student. Please assist us by going to the patient portal at  suhsportal.syr.edu and filling out your health history as accurately and thoroughly as possible and uploading your immunization and physical examination form by July 1, 2017.

If your health history, immunization and physical examination information is not completed and uploaded to the patient portal prior to your arrival on campus, a hold will be placed on your MySlice account and you will be ineligible to register for a second semester.

If you do not have the information available to complete this form, or have questions, or concerns, please contact Health Services at 315-443-9005.

Paying your SU bill

The   Tuition, Fees and Related Policies Bulletin outlines the University's costs and policies

Here is a brief summation of the business cycle:
  • Your first fall semester bill is sent in June. If you are on the Monthly Payment Plan, you may pay fall semester charges over five months. Otherwise, payment will be due on or about August 1st.  A Monthly Payment Plan application can be found online.
  • To confirm the fall/spring registrations, your Bursar student account must be current. This means either paid or covered by anticipated financial aid (aid that has been awarded but not disbursed). Otherwise, please be sure you have confirmation from our office that an agreed upon plan for payment has been established.
Please feel free to contact us by email at bursar@syr.edu or visit the Bursar's Office website, where you may find the answers to your questions.

Submit your I.D. Card photo
Deadline is August 1

Your SU I.D. card serves as your official University identification and will give you access to a variety of venues and services. Upload your photo by August 1 and your I.D. card will be ready for you when you check-in to your residence hall or from the Housing, Meal Plan, and I.D. Card Service Center for those living off campus.

For more information, visit the   I.D. Card Photo Submission website.

The Legend of #44

Since 1954, nine football players have worn the #44; three earned All-American honors (Jim Brown, Ernie Davis, and Floyd Little). In basketball, two players (Derrick Coleman and John Wallace) wearing the same number broke scoring records. To reflect the importance of #44, the University's zip code changed to 13244 and phone prefixes to 442 and 443.
