Sunday was a big day at Cedarbrook! I interviewed Emilie Menz

in the morning and we baptized 24 people that evening in the amphitheater. It may have been the biggest turnout we've ever had for a baptism. Check out our Facebook page for pictures from that night.

If you listened to the stories, there was a common theme: God rescued people from their mess. It took a mess to cause people to turn to God, but when they did, God was right there waiting for them. You can read some of the stories here.

A Special Guest Speaker This Sunday

This Sunday we will be treated with a message from Debbie Griffith. Debbie has a daily 60 second radio segment on many Christian stations and speaks at conferences around the country. Click on the video to learn a little about Debbie.

A Statement on White Supremacy: Lots of churches are making a statement against white supremacy

because of the events in Charlottesville, VA. It's hard for me to make a statement because it seems painfully obvious how wrong it is. Like, do we need to make a statement saying that hatred is bad? Don't we all know this? Apparently not.

I remember reading a book about the Klu Klux Klan when I was a child. I was SHOCKED to learn that they still existed in the 60's. I thought I was reading about ancient history. Surely, modern day people didn't think like that. I wish.

My point is, white supremacy (or any kind of supremacy) is so far off my radar that it feels odd to have to make a statement. So I'll let Gary Walters do it for me with the official statement against white supremacy from the Evangelical Covenant Church.

Looking Ahead to Our Fall Launch: I know we are all clinging to the last days of summer. I sure am. But I want to make sure you are ready for Sunday: September 10th. This is the day of our fall ministry launch. Our children's ministry will be back in full gear and Midwest Teen Challenge will be leading the entire service. Read more about it below

enjoy the rest of your week!

Community Cares
Connecting with the Joys and Cares of Our Community

Carla Bailey would appreciate your prayer as she recovers from knee surgery.
Please pray for the doctors to have wisdom in treating Carla and for her family during this difficult time.

If someone you know has lost a friend or loved one, is welcoming a new life into their family, or in a tough spot, please email [email protected] so we can reach out to them as a community.

Consider Transformation Prayer Ministry (TPM)
When counseling isn't enough

Cedarbrook's best kept secret is our Transformation Prayer Ministry (TPM). TPM helps facilitate inner healing of deep hurts that manifest in depression, shame, anger, fear, etc.

If you have struggled with these problems and found no help elsewhere, then maybe it's time to try something new.

We have a trained team of prayer facilitators. To learn more, watch the introductory video and then email Lisa Diederich to set up an introductory meeting.

Jesus came to set us free. Don't let your past keep you in bondage.
