REST staff members met state leaders and professionals from respite and senior service organizations during the Minnesota Age & Disabilities Odyssey Conference. They trained 26 individuals on the REST Essentials course, and presented the latest REST research during the session, "Sharing the Care: Innovative In-Home Respite Models." In addition, REST staff created a video on how public and private resources are supporting caregivers. View the video.

A new REST Trainer from HEARTful Caregivers Inc., recently attended a Las Vegas Train-the-Trainer event
. The mission of this new organization is to provide caregivers of older adults in the Pikes Peak region with information about health and education opportunities, assistance, resources and training, thereby supporting them in their caregiving tasks.

Two REST Trainers participated in Kearney Days of Caring, on June 14
, at First Presbyterian Church, through the Nebraska Caregiver Coalition and the Nebraska Lifespan Respite Network. The event, which included resource tables, legislative updates and speakers, was organized for family caregivers or providers who are interested in increasing awareness, education and statewide support for caregivers in the state.
