  • Earn 7-9 credits toward your degree.
  • Benefit from specially designed academic support.
  • Enjoy full campus life experiences: live in Booth Residence Hall, eat in the dining centers, and attend classes on campus.
  • Enjoy recreational and social activities, such as a talent show; bowling; sports; Students, Faculty & Staff Mixer; visiting nearby parks and lakes; including day trips to Darien Lake and Niagara Falls.
  • Make new friends, get acquainted with the SU campus, and enjoy the beauty of summer in Upstate New York.
Students who have been awarded a Syracuse University Grant for the 2017-2018  academic year may be eligible for financial assistance for SummerStart. Official Syracuse University Color

Orange became the University's official color in 1890 when Syracuse became the first college to adopt only one official color. The original school colors, rose pink and pea green, adopted in 1872 were not popular. Orange was chosen to represent the golden apples of Hesperia; the story of the sunrise and the hope for a golden future. Blue is used as an unofficial accent color.
