STANLEY GINSBERG, THE RYE BAKER:
is the author of The Rye Baker, the critically acclaimed baking book devoted entirely to the rye breads of Europe and America. He is also co-author and writer of Inside the Jewish Bakery: Recipes and Memories from the Golden Age of Jewish Baking, 2012 winner of the International Association of Culinary Professionals' prestigious Jane Grigson Award.
Stanley grew up in post World War Two Brooklyn, where he learned to bake from his grandmothers. He continued to bake during his years as a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin, and returned to it in the early 2000s as the demands of career and family wound down.
In addition to writing and baking, Stanley owns and operates The New York Bakers, an e-business dedicated to providing home bakers with a wide variety of professional ingredients, supplies and equipment.
Stanley and his wife, Sylvia Spieler Ginsberg, live in San Diego, California. They have three adult children, three beautiful granddaughters, and two lovable standard poodles.
Stanley will be joining us at this year's Kneading Conference to lead a hands-on baking demonstration.
