Free Kids' Classes June 11: Children from kindergarten through 6th grade are invited to free classes June 11 at the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette in celebration of the Indiana Bicentennial. Sponsored by ArtSmart: Indiana, the classes will incorporate Indiana's art history as children rotate through classes that include pottery, oil pastels and papermaking taught by museum instructors from 1-4 p.m. Although classes are free, registration is required by June 10.

2nd Century Club members can Cruise the Collections in Indianapolis. T hursday, June 16.  Curator Mark Ruschman of the Indiana State Museum will give a tour of 200 Years of Indiana Art: A Cultural Legacy. The group then will view the fine art at the Long-Sharp Galleries. Rhonda Long-Sharp will host a reception for members with artists featured in the galleries invited to attend.

Indiana Now 2016: The Bicentennial | Through Aug. 31 | This juried exhibition highlights the work of Hoosier artists. All artwork has been completed since Jan. 1, 2014. Artwork includes painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, ceramics, glass, metal, wood, and fiber.

Art League: Past and Present | Through July 17 | The Art League culminates a yearlong celebration of its 50th anniversary with this exhibit featuring works by 50 members from 1965 to the present. Many of the works in the exhibit are for sale with a percentage of the proceeds going to the Art Museum.
 
A Bicentennial Legacy, Artsmart: Indiana | Through Nov. 17 | Don your bicentennial hat and check out our exhibit that captures 200 years of Indiana art. It includes rare works from private and public collections that are included in ArtSmart: Indiana, a free web-based program that tells history of Indiana through the work of its artists.

Three-Day trip to Grand Rapids: The Art Museum is partnering with the Discovering Art & Artists Interest Group of the Purdue Women's Club on a trip to ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, Mich., Oct. 5-7. ArtPrize is an international art competition held over three square miles of downtown Grand Rapids. More than 1,500 international artists will compete for prizes of more than $500,000. Besides lodging and transportation, tickets include a guided tram tour of the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park and an optional free visit to the Frank Lloyd Wright's completely restored Meyer-May house. Deadline for reservations is July 31.

   MEMBERS ONLY
2nd Century Club members , who contribute $1,000 or more annually to the Art Museum, are invited to an annual private behind-the-scenes art tour to another location; a club members-only annual dinner; private champagne exhibition previews and meetings with the artists; priority invitations to Art Museum special events and tours. Email Kendall Smith for more information or to join.

ROAM + NARM The Art Museum has joined the Reciprocal Organization of Associated Museums (ROAM) which provides members at the Friend level and above with free admission and a 10 percent shopping discount at more than 200 museums, including the Indianapolis Museum of Art.This is in addition to the museum's ongoing membership in the North American Reciprocal Museums (NARM) organization with more than 800 participating museums.
