Saucy's Sports Lounge : FREE LIVE MUSIC THIS SUNDAY! Fine Line Acoustic is coming to Saucy's Sports Lounge on Sunday, September 23rd! They will be rockin' the joint immediately following the Packer game around 3:30-7:30pm! We are also having another Cornhole Tourney being run by 920 Cornhole on Saturday, October 6th, bags fly at noon. Lakeland University is developing innovative ways to better prepare students for the workforce needs of Sheboygan and Manitowoc Counties. We have established a comprehensive cooperative education program that requires students to work with area businesses. With our exciting enrollment growth, we are looking for the support of area employers to provide valuable work experiences as early as January 2019. Lakeshore Rise Hitting & Indoor Training Facility: Lakeshore Rise is starting an All-Star Cheer Program for Novice Division ages 3-5 years old and 5-11 year olds. This cheer program is especially designed for those athletes looking to try cheer for the first time. Teams perform a 2 1/2 minute routine with music to choreography that includes jumps, stunts and tumbling. They will compete against other cheer squads. Lakeshore Rise's All-Star Cheer program focuses on having FUN and developing self-confidence, poise and self-esteem. There will be an informational meeting on September 25th, at 7:15pm. Manitowoc Public Library (MPL): It's a Twofer Tidbit! First, please note that MPL will be CLOSED from 12:00-6:00pm on Friday, September 21st, for Staff Development. However, come that evening, MPL is hosting an after-hours Teen Library Lock-In from 6:30-9:00pm! Hang out with your friends for video games, board games, crafts and snacks! Space is limited and a signed permission form is REQUIRED! These forms will be available all week at the Children's Desk and serve as your Golden Ticket into the event! Admission is FREE!
PINK HEALS Manitowoc County WI will be hosting their annual 5K/10K Walk/Run and Raffle event on Saturday, October 6th, at Fox Hills Resort. Registration begins at 11:00am with the race starting at 12:30pm. The cost is $30 on or before September 21st and will be $35 after September 21st. The cost for children from ages 2-12 is $15. The Manitowoc-Two Rivers Y is offering a brand new program called Train to Trot. Train to Trot will help you get ready for that 2 mile run or that 5 mile run for the 11th Annual Turkey Trot. This program will start on Monday, October 1st and end on Wednesday, November 21st. Train to Trot is offered Monday's-Wednesday's from 5:00-6:00pm at the YMCA. Upon completing the Monday and Wednesday training sessions, your running coach will prepare a suggested running program to help you conquer your race. Lighthouse Recovery Community Center presents the first annual Dose of Hope Campaign. This will host 62 canvas prints around the center highlighting what the recovery side of addiction looks like. This will be a very powerful experience for all. There will also be people in long-term recovery there to give a voice to the recovery journey. Food and mocktails will be provided by Brian's Smokehouse . Lt. Dave Remiker of the Metro Drug Unit will speak at 4:30pm, 5:30pm, and 6:30pm. $25 at the door or you may purchase tickets beforehand here . University of Wisconsin-Green Bay: Professional development workshops are offered through the UW-Green Bay's Business Solutions' 2018-2019 Supervisory Leadership Certificate Program. Northeastern WI Area Health Education Center is seeking reliable 18-20 year olds who don't drink alcohol to help us keep young people safe by accompanying a trained facilitator to help identify alcohol retailers who need more education on how to check IDs and comply with state law. About 25 hours of work will be scheduled based on the individual's availability. Interested individuals will be compensated through a VISA gift card for their time. Restaurant & Culinary Week|END 2018 will be September 28th-30th. The Chamber of Manitowoc County and the Manitowoc Area Visitor & Convention Bureau (MAVCB) have parntered on this event to not only allow our local restaurants to feature their unique specials, but also allow Manitowoc County to host special culinary activities and events. This is an opportunity for locals and tourists to check out some of the finest cuisine and dishes and locations Manitowoc County has to offer. Check out the  dine  and  experience  pages to see what will be offered over the weekend!
Friends of the Two Rivers Senior Center: The Two Rivers Senior Center will be hosting their annual Over 80 Party on Tuesday, September 25th. Polka & musical entertainment by Norman Bertschy starting at 11:00am, and then a delicious homemade lunch including meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, green beans, a dinner roll and cake will be served at 12:00pm. Manufacturing Rocks Tour: This is the month when manufacturers around the county open their doors to show community members that manufacturing careers are alive and well. Here's your opportunity to tour some of Manitowoc County's manufacturing facilities to learn about the company itself and learn about potential jobs. All tours will be 60 minutes in duration and be limited to 20 people per tour. The event is open to the public and will include special invitations to our local business leaders, school administrators, counselors, teachers and students. Following are time slots for each tour and the type of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required. Safety glasses and ear plugs will be available at each facility. Felician Village: In recognition of Fall Prevention Awareness Day, Felician Village will present "Fall Prevention: Beyond the Basics", on Monday, September 24th, at 2:00pm. Treehouse Theater presents open Auditions for youth to appear in our fall musical, Disney's Aladdin Jr . Up to 60 students, ages 6-18, will be selected as cast members and performances are slated for December 6th-9th, at the UW-Manitowoc Theatre. Auditions will be held at the rehearsal studio located at 818 Franklin Street on September 20th and 22nd. Callbacks will be held on September 23rd beginning at 12:00pm. Online registration for an audition time-slot is strongly encouraged, but walk-in's are also welcome at the beginning of each. Ages 6-8 will audition with a one-minute vocal solo on September 22nd, from 10:00-10:45am and up to ten student actors will be cast. Ages 9-18 may audition on September 20th, from 5:30-7:00pm or 7:00-8:30pm as well as on September 22nd, from 11:00am-12:30pm or 1:00-2:30pm.
