"It's All About Me"
Here I Stand
Name: Gwen Lochhead

Occupation: Respiratory Therapist

I believe through faith, love, and trust in God together we can continue to create and see good in this world.

I pray for my own strength to continue to set a spiritual example for people who are lost.

I struggle with trying not to judge people.

An issue I am fighting for is better treatment of elderly people.

I live out my faith by doing my best to live by example. I believe actions speak louder than words and that talk can be cheap.

People are surprised that I am not married and do not have any children.

I am Lutheran because I connect with ritualism but not rigidity. I enjoy feeling like I have the freedom to be exactly who I am with no judgment. I feel a definite spiritual connection here.

I gladly offer my time, talents, and treasure to the ministry and mission of God's church because honestly, sometimes it's what gets me out of bed and gets me motivated each day.

Here I Stand, I can do no other. God help me.

500 Scarves...
What's better than 400 scarves? 500 scarves! What's a great way to celebrate our 500th birthday? Providing 500 scarves as a community service to the Food Pantry this holiday season.

Join our Loving Hands group, and get out your knitting needles, dig up some crochet hooks, or sharpen your scissors. Then join us on Saturdays, October 21 and November 18 to knit, crochet, or make fleece scarves. We meet in the annex from 1-3, and we are looking for other loving hands to help us take our goal from 400 to 500 scarves this holiday season.

Can't join us? Then make scarves at home, and drop them off at church. We'll make sure our neighbors visiting the Food Pantry during December Thursdays receive the warmth and comfort of a scarf from SOL. Stop by a table in the Narthex Oct 15, 22, or 29 for yarn, patterns, or inspiration.

As a special treat, John will bless the scarves we've completed on Reformation Sunday, October 29. The Narthex and Sanctuary will be alive with the work of our Loving Hands.

We have a Junior High Lock-in coming up Saturday October 28th into Sunday October 29th. Friends are welcome so be sure to extend the invitation! Let Jonathan or Tina know by Wednesday October 25th if you are planning on coming.
During the service on October 29th the Sunday School classes will be leading two songs towards the end of service. We’ll be singing “The B-I-B-L-E” and “This Little Light of Mine” If you are interested in practicing at home both songs can be found on YouTube. We have been working on them Sunday mornings before class.
