Dear Tournament Capital Volunteers,
With the new year just around the corner we are looking forward to lots of exciting events in our community, starting with Home Town Hockey on January 13th and 14th, followed by the BC Winter Games , February 22nd - 25th! We are enjoying the planning process of these events and look forward to showing off our great community to visitors taking part. 

We were very happy to attend the Community Awareness Event in celebration of the upcoming BC Winter Games at the Sandman Signature Hotel on October 17th.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR OPERATION RED NOSE



Operation Red Nose is kicking off their 21st campaign in Kamloops and the service is running over 18 nights. They need volunteers to help drive people and their vehicles home during the holiday season. They need designated drivers, escort drivers, navigators, phone operators and dispatchers between the hours of 8:00 pm and 
3:00 am. The service is by donation and all funds raised go to PacificSport and supporting athletes and youth programs in Kamloops. 

To volunteer please go to the Tournament Capital Centre, ICBC Claim Centre, Desert Gardens Community Centre or Volunteer Kamloops to pick up the volunteer application form or visit www.operationrednose.com to download the form.

The BC Winter Games are coming to Kamloops, February 22 -25th, 2018
Sports in this great event include:

Archery, Badminton, Basketball- Special Olympics, Basketball - Wheelchair, Biathalon, Curling, Diving, Figure Skating (including Special Olympics), Gymnastics, Judo, Karate, Netball, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Ringett, Skiing- Apline, Skiing- Cross Country (including Para), Skiing- Freestyle, Snowboarding, and Speed Skating

Volunteer for the United Way Homes for the Holidays!  

The United Way's 16th annual Homes for the Holidays tour has become one of the city's most popular house tours and important fundraiser for the United Way.
 
The United Way Homes for the Holidays tour is November 25th & 26th.
Calling festive volunteers to check tickets, greet guests, and supervise rooms in 6 beautifully decorated homes on this year's tour.
Tours are Saturday: Noon - 4pm and 5pm - 9pm; and Sunday Noon - 4pm. 
If you are able to stand for  4 ½ hours at one time, be jolly and welcome guests, 
then they would like to hear from you.
    *Volunteers will receive a ticket to the tour.
