Greetings! Summer's official start may be here soon, but the art community already got started a couple of weeks ago. The fun keeps coming, as we welcome more openings, exhibitions and special events for the season when we love to be out and about. Our openings calendar is full this month, and this weekend offers chances to see shows at many galleries and spaces, including 3rd Fridays at Bridgeport Art Center where you can see a monumental sculpture of Sarah Palin, as well as the Zhou B Art Center where you'll see portraits inspired by Facebook. Later this month, the work of Ansel Adams is at Bert Green Fine Art on South Michigan Ave. on June 30, and The Randolph Street Market is finally outdoors again June 23-24. Jessica Stockholder's Color Jam livens up the Loop all summer. Finally, take advantage of some artistic road trips - check out nearby Wisconsin museums in Milwaukee, Madison, Racine and Kohler - there are some surprises along the way, including super awkward family portraits! Remember, these are just the highlights. Check out our blog and events calendar for more to do all summer. Enjoy the warm temps and all the art, and we'll see you in the galleries!

Ansel Adams: Los Angeles at Bert Green Fine Art
CGN Partner Post
Bert Green Fine Art is honored to present rarely seen photographs that reveal the lost landscape + lifestyle of a prewar Los Angeles. These nostalgic images from the archives of The L.A. Public Library Ansel Adams Collection represent Adams as a photojournalist on assignment for Fortune Magazine in 1940.
Ansel Adams (1902-1984) created some of the most influential photographs ever made; but Ansel Adams Los Angeles is a whole other body of work that is rarely discussed, let alone seen. Click here to download the full exhibition press release (pdf).
Exhibition closing reception on Saturday, June 30, 3-7pm
On view thru June 30, 2012 at Bert Green Fine Art 8 S. Michigan Avenue, Suite 1220, Chicago (60603) Tel 312-434-7544 | Open Wed-Fri 11-6, Sat 12-5____________________ |
