Chicago Department of Aviation Hosts London Heathrow Airport

CHICAGO, June 19, 2012 - The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) last week hosted officials from London Heathrow Airport at O'Hare International Airport to discuss capital improvement programs implemented at both O'Hare and Heathrow, and share best practices and lessons learned.  

The three-person delegation included Steven Morgan, Executive Director for Capital Programmes; Stephen Livingstone, Programme Controls Director and Acting Director of the Baggage Programme; and Inaki Garcia Bilbao, Financial Director of the Ferrovial Aeroporto Grupo.

 

While at O'Hare, the group met with CDA Chief Operating Office Khaled Naja and other airport representatives involved with O'Hare's operations, design and construction, including the O'Hare Modernization Program (OMP) and legal affairs.

The group shared information about airport operations, construction, baggage handling, and contracting procedures. The Heathrow Airport delegation was also provided an airfield tour of OMP construction activities.

 

Since CDA Commissioner Rosemarie S. Andolino's appointment in 2009, the CDA has hosted international delegations from Niedersachsen,Germany; Sweden; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Latin America; the Caribbean; Singapore; Belgrade, Serbia; Abu Dhabi, UAE; Beijing, China; Incheon, South Korea; Henan Province, China; Zhoushan, China; and countries of the former Soviet Union and the United Kingdom.
