I'll Obey

Bible Basis: Genesis 6:14-22; 7:11-17, 24

In the years following Adam and Eve's expulsion from the garden, people became more wicked. God decided to destroy His creation with a flood and start all over again. However, Noah and his family were not to be destroyed by the flood because he walked with God. Noah is a prime example of complete obedience to God. His obedience is directly contrasted with the violence of the rest of the humans (Gen. 6:8-9).

Lesson Focus: We can obey God

Memory Verse: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart." Matthew 22:37

Listen Up!
Bible Basis:
2 Kings 22:1-11; 23:1-3

Josiah inherited a corrupt Kingdom of Judah. He chose not to follow his father or grandfather's wicked practices. In the eighth year of his reign he began to worship God and four years later he instructed that idols be destroyed. In his eighteenth year as king, he raised money to repair the temple much like Joash. During the repair the Book of the Law was found.

The scroll had a profound effect on Josiah.  During his reign, from 640 to 609 B.C., Judah experienced a spiritual renewal.

Lesson Focus: We can listen to God's Word.

Memory Verse: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart." Matthew 22:37

Only God Is Holy

Bible Basis: Isaiah 6:1-9

In the year that King Uzziah died (around 740 B.C), prophet  Isaiah saw the LORD seated on a throne in the temple. Above Him, seraphs (or seraphim)  were flying. They covered their faces and feet with two of their three pairs of wings and this posture certainly indicates reverence and worship.

The throne, seraphs, and threefold use of "holy" emphasizes God's holiness. Holy means set apart, without sin, prefect.

Lesson Focus: Only God is holy

Memory Verse: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory."

Isaiah 6:3
