Columbia, S.C. - As South Carolina's leader in the prevention of child abuse, neglect and injuries, Children's Trust is hosting its largest Prevention Conference Oct. 2-3 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

Approximately 800 attendees are expected for the biennial two-day event, which brings together social workers, home visitors, counselors, program administrators and other child-serving professionals. With a theme of "Embracing Prevention, Empowering Communities," the conference will emphasize the role everyone plays in keeping children safe.

Dr. Dan Siegel, Ashley Rhodes-Courter, Dr. Charlyn Harper Browne and Donna Jackson Nakazawa highlight the group of national and regional speakers available for interviews Monday and Tuesday to discuss child abuse prevention, child brain development, adverse childhood experiences, home visiting, race equity and inclusion, protective factors and fatherhood engagement.
