Blessings to you and your family!

The new year is off to a wonderful start! We welcomed new friends in many of our classrooms.

Check out what your child’s classroom has been up to and what to look forward to this month.

16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17  For God sent not the Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through him. John 3:16-17

Leadership Updates
An important letter regarding 2018 tuition rates went home last week. Please check your child's cubby to ensure you don't miss this important information! You can also view it here.

Spring Pictures are early this year. This Thursday and Friday we will have portraits taken for all the classrooms. Infant, Toddler, Younger Preschool, and Older Preschool will have their photos taken on Thursday. On Friday, School Age, Beginners, and Siblings will have photos. If you would like individual AND sibling photos, please have your children ready for pictures on both days. Picture forms were sent home on Friday.

Fresh air and a chance to move are vital to healthy growth and development. We take the children outside twice a day, everyday, rain or shine. Please ensure your child has a WATERPROOF JACKET and SHOES. We don't want your little one to be uncomfortable during outside time.

New immunization forms were sent home as a yearly requirement for the Department of Early Learning. Please return them promptly. Lost your copy? Here is a link

A new season of soccer shots just started and it's not too late to sign up! This weekly class is a great introduction to soccer. It is also perfect for the off-season with personalized instruction for those who are already soccer stars. Registration forms are at the front desk. Find out more here.

Last month we entered our rating period with Early Achievers, Washington State's Quality Rating and Improvement System for Early Childhood Education. On January 16th-19th, raters from the University of Washington made an unannounced visit. They spent time observing and assessing classrooms. We will be able to share results in our May newsletter. Raters will not be back out until Spring 2020. For more information about Early Achievers please go to https://del.wa.gov/earlyachievers.

Infants
We are so excited to add three new friends to our infant class! This month we will be exploring with the color red. Don't worry if your little one comes home with red marks on their hands and feet, it is just paint :-)

Please remember to wash your hands when entering the infant room as we try to eliminate the spread of germs. We also ask everyone to wear socks or use shoe-covers in the classroom. No bare feet or shoes. We like to take the children outside even during the winter months. Please be sure to bring in a coat and hat for your little one.

Toddlers
Our Toddlers spent time learning about emotions and what to do when we feel angry or sad. The children are encouraged to seek the emotional support they need from their teachers while also being pushed towards being more independent.

This month we are continuing to manages our feelings with an emphasis on relationships with teachers, peers, and caregivers. We will celebrate friendship on Valentine's Day!

-Ms. Rina and Ms. Larissa
Younger Preschool
Our Younger Preschool kiddos enjoyed their space unit. We learned all about the planets, stars, and our very own home planet of Earth.

This month we will learn about how much our family loves us, how to show others we love them, and most importantly, God's unconditional love for us. We will continue to encourage sharing, gentle hands, and being kind. You can help your child practice at home!

-Ms. Somayeh and Ms. Rebecca
Older Preschool
In January, our Older Preschool students had fun learning about the winter season! We made crystal snowflakes and learned about winter animals and hibernation.

In February, we are going to make bird-feeders and will observe and record the birds that come to visit. We will also be talking about Jesus's unconditional love for us all!

We will be celebrating our friendships with a special Field Trip to Kidz Bounce on Valentine's Day! Please check cubbies for additional information.

-Ms. Pam and Ms. Paloma
Beginners
Our Beginner students enjoyed learning about winter, and winter animals. We did science experiments with snow and learned about weather patterns. We also learned about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

This month is dental awareness month, we will be taking a field trip to a dental office! Stay tuned for details.

This month we will be celebrating diversity! It is black history month, Chinese New Year, Mardi Gras, and other cultural celebrations.

Please keep an eye out for the signup sheet for our Valentine's Day Party.

Check out all the fun we have been up to on our Class Facebook Page!

School Age
January was chalked full of fun for our school age kiddos. They made marshmallow snowmen for a tasty treat, made mazes out of Legos, and put on a talent show! Liam played his guitar; Lilly H. and Quincy sang "Photograph" by Ed Sheeran; Gabe performed a magic trick; Lily H, Elisha, Ciku, and Quincy demonstrated how to make a heart craft, and Alicia performed a comedy puppet show.

We are looking forward to mid-winter break February 20th-23rd. A schedule for the week will be sent home this week.

We now have a direct contact number for school age: 425-529-3126. Please leave a message on this line if your child will not be attending the program or if someone different will be picking up your child.

From the Kitchen
We are sad to share that Ms. Susanne is on medical leave for up to 4 months. She fractured her right shoulder but is on the mend. Ms. Rebecca, Ms. Lindy, and Ms. Angelica are subbing until we can find a temporary replacement. If you know of anyone who likes to cook and is looking for a temporary position, please send them our way.
