Sixth Sunday of Easter

Weekly Chimes

Hello friends and family!

Summer showed up! After the coldest of April, we have apparently skipped Spring. The azaleas are beautiful. I wish I were able to go out for a walk. BUT... so much good is going on. Last Sunday was a marvelous day with great worship, the dedication of our Highway Marker with so many folks in Colonial attire, and saying thank you and "see you later" to our faithful friend, David King. Plus, Mary O'Flaherty's song of praise that she offered during communion at 9:15 and 10:30 was inspiring and beautiful. It was one of those days when being part of ODEC was full of the best. Yesterday was the blessing of our "Little Free Library" and it is stocked and ready to serve!

This coming Sunday will be more of the same. Jesus calls us "friends" so we need to figure out what "loving friends" might look like. Ashley will be preaching in the Gathering and I'll be in the Church. Sunday School and youth are getting close to the end of our normal school schedule so don't miss now.

Tonight we have vestry commissions meeting. We will have Worship, Formation, and Outreach in sessions and you are welcome to join any of them.

Saturday is "Cinco de Mayo" party in the parish hall. Everyone is invited to join in for good food and fun. Proceeds will support the "Dos Santos" ministry to Latino children and families up on the Eastern Shore - so it is for a good purpose. Come join me for good friends, food and music, with a margarita or other drink in the parish hall. You can come along and pay at the door!

I also hope you will buy a J2A stock certificate if you haven't already. We are getting close to pilgrimage time and this not only buys you a seat at their dinner in the Fall - it also makes pilgrimage possible. I am making plans with Canterbury Cathedral right now. It is feeling really real and we need to finish up the fundraising.

Enjoy the beautiful weather. See you this weekend!
