CELEBRATE THE 6TH ANNIVERSARY OF NEW YORK CITY'S 
MARCO POLO FESTIVAL!

  

This fall, Two Bridges will host the 6th Annual Marco Polo Festival, celebrating the Chinatown & Little Italy Historic District, and the special relationship between the Chinese and Italian American communities of Manhattan's Chinatown & Little Italy.

 

The 2014 Marco Polo street festivities begin with a breathtaking pageant through the streets of Chinatown & Little Italy.

 

Large-scale marionettes of Marco Polo and Kublai Khan, and a monumental hand-painted 50' long, silk banner depicting the "Silk Road", are paraded through the streets by local youth, accompanied by cultural musicians and others.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month - Understanding Dense Breast Tissue by cbwchc

With this month being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we wanted to touch on an issue that is common among Asian women.

 

We encourage all women over the age of 40 to have breast cancer screenings to detect cancer early. For women with dense breast tissue, mammogram images may be more difficult to read, making breast cancer harder to detect. Dense breast tissue is commonly found in Asian women. Having dense breasts means you have more breast tissue than fatty tissue in your breasts. Having dense breasts is not abnormal, and is actually very common. It is important to know that women with dense breasts may have a higher risk of getting breast cancer than women who do not

Global Sustainability is a topic covered in 2014 UN Climate Summit.   Along with Green Compassion.us,  we are joining this movement to help make NEW YORK a GREENER CITY.

Waves of Identity Curators' Talk


Join Herb Tam and Yue Ma, curators of Waves of Identity: 35 Years of Archiving, for a discussion on this exhibition that examines Chinese American identity through MOCA's collection of photographs, personal letters, artifacts and oral histories. They will unpack the process of developing and organizing this exhibition as well as the role archive materials play in interpreting the history of a community.

 

This program is held in conjunction with the exhibition Waves of Identity: 35 Years of Archiving on view September 25, 2014 - March 1, 2015.
