Dec 22 and 23:  Santa Claus will be touring the NORTH end of the island on Monday, Dec 22 and the SOUTH end of the island on Tuesday, Dec 23.  Both evening starting at approximately 5:30PM. Church Street is the dividing line. Children of all ages are encouraged to go outside when they hear the sirens and see the red lights from the fire truck. Santa will be waiting to see you!!


Dec 31:  3rd Annual Chincoteague Island Arts Organization (CIAO) New Year's Eve Concert at Island Theatre featuring Bill Toms & Hard Rain. Come out for a fun evening of music & dancing & watch the horseshoe drop across the street afterwards. 8:00PM - 11:30PM. Doors open at 7:30PM. Tickets $30 - purchase at Sundial Books or H&H Pharmacy (cash or check only) or at ciarts.org. 4074 Main Street. No refunds or exchanges.  Beer & wine sold during concert. 

Dec 31:  Pony Island Horseshoe Drop & Masquerade March.  Wear your favorite costume or be a spectator.  Theme:  Salt-Water Cowboys & Seaside Angels.  Prizes awarded.  Festivities begin at 10 PM  For more info visit ChincoteagueChristmas.com

Openings for 2015 Sea S.T.A.R. Summer Internship

for High School Students

 

Ideal for students who have an interest in education, biology, or science, have a strong academic profile, and are interested in an opportunity to work in an outdoor environmental education setting. Interns will spend a lot of time outdoors in marine environments.  Students who are enthusiastic and outgoing, can easily work with others, and are organized, with good attention to detail will be the best fit for this internship.

   

Applications are being accepted until January 30th.
