From our Rector

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

I write to you on the sixth day of the General Convention of our church, July 10.  This is an exiting time and also very spiritual, as our entire church gathers to pray and celebrate the Holy Eucharist together, in addition to the business dimension.

The House of Deputies passed a resolution for full Prayer Book revision.  This 8 million dollar project would include the use of a provisional prayer book by 2024 and the adoption of a new one by 2030.  The House of Bishops is debating this resolution.  The resolution is A068 and must pass both houses to become final.

As an alternate deputy, I have had time to be on the floor and vote on resolutions.  The two I dealt with on Monday, July 9th were:

-Resolution D019 on creating an investment screen based on the Church's social teaching in regard to Israeli occupation   of Palestine i.e., the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip

- Resolution A109 the creation of a national task force on sexual harassment in the church.

I voted in favor of both, it was passed by the House of Deputies and awaits the House of Bishops.

Today the House of Bishops passed A238 on Cuba incorporation and Presiding Bishop Curry seated Bishop Griselda in the House of Bishops.

I look forward to seeing you all when I return and know that Father Eberly is doing a wonderful job, as always!

Blessings,

Fr. Justin

Memorial Garden Committee

What a joy for the creation of the St. Christopher Memorial Garden of Christ Church.  We are thankful for the funds received through the Diocese from the former Church of the Epiphany, Ventnor, that enabled this project to be completed.  This is now an opportunity for you to support the perpetual care of the memorial garden.

You can do this by purchasing a dedication brick to be placed on part of the garden pathway.  At this time there are a limited number of bricks available.  Your engraved brick can be obtained at $100.00 per brick.  A couple of ideas for the dedication are in memory of someone, honoring someone, or sponsoring a brick for whatever reason.

To obtain an order form, you may leave a message at the church office at 609-927-6262 or email Marilyn Anderson [email protected].  Forms are also available in the church narthex.

Yours in Christ,

Memorial Garden Committee
