A Note From the Teacher

The Sunday School children will participate in raising funds for the church's Capital Campaign.  Patt Mathis and I have conferenced to figure out the most educational and faithful method of instruction for our children so that our children are learning to give of themselves to the church.  This Sunday, March 19, during the Sunday School hour, the children will be presented with a collection jar for each family.  From now until the end of the school year, the children will be able to fill their jars with donations.  They can give loose change, part of their allowances, part of their birthday money, etc. to support God's church.  At the end of the school year, the children will pool all their efforts into one large container to present to the church.  We want to teach them humility and grace as they strive to give of themselves.
Patt and I also discussed having the Sunday School children sponsor a coffee hour.  Again, they would be learning service to the church as they select and make their treats for coffee hour, set up the table, and then clean up at the end.  We would make an announcement prior to that Sunday that the children would be sponsoring the coffee hour, and any free will donations made would be given to the Capital Campaign.  The tentative date for the Sunday School's coffee hour is April 30.
The Easter Celebration this year will be the Sunday after Easter, April 23.  Please mark your calendars and bring your Easter Baskets.  Any donations of egg fillers are always appreciated!
Blessings,
Amy
