"True belonging doesn't require that we
change who we are;
it requires that we
be who we are."
~ Brene Brown
How are we finding ourselves "belonging" today - in work life, among family, within the community, and with God? Are we having to
change who we are in order to fit in, gain approval and identity, or are we challenged to grow in who we are? We spend much of our earthly lives searching for our identity and chasing after things in order to fulfill our sense of need for belonging that often times we forget that as God's creation we already belong to God, just the way we are. When we can settle in and understand that life's journey is about growing into our created purpose, we can rest in assurance that God longs for us to be.
So it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God who shows mercy.
For the scripture says to Pharaoh, "I have raised you up for the very purpose
of showing my power in you, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.
