RCGC Summer Cross Country Series Update
  Final Race This Thursday July 28 at 7:00 PM
The Final race of the 2011 RCGC Summer Cross Country Series will be this Thursday, July 28 at 7:00 PM at the scenic Valley View Nature Preserve by Pattison Elementary School in Milford. Park at Pattison Elementary. This is also the final race for Stacy Osborne as race director. Stacy has directed the series for 25 years. No entry fees! No awards! Just the satisfaction of a hard workout and telling Stacy congratulations on his 25 years as race director.

CROSS COUNTRY SERIES INFORMATION

  • DATE: Thursday July 28, 2011

  • PLACE: Valley View Nature Preserve, Milford OH. Ample parking available at Pattison Elementary
  • INFORMATION: Last race of the 2011 Summer Cross Country Series. No entry fees! No awards! Just the satisfaction of a hard workout with your friends and telling Stacy congratulations on his 25 years as race director. After the race, enjoy bread and water. A Midsummer Night's Trail Run
  Thursday August 11, 2011 6:30 PM
Join the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati on August 11 to go "Over Hill, Over Dale, Through Brush, Through Briar" in A Midsummer Night's Trail Run in Mount Airy Forest at 6:30 PM! Awards to the Top 5 Males and Top 5 Females Runners and to the Top 5 Male Master(40 & over) and Top 5 Female Master(40 & over) Runners. Racing fliers must be received by August 6, 2011. Online registration available through August 6, 2011. Limited edition Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati/Midsummer Night's Trail Run 2011 collapsible neoprene can koozies for the first 50 people who register.

Group Run Updates
 
A few group runs put on by the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati to get you through the summer:
  • Long Run Training for the Fall - Are you thinking of running/walking your 1st Marathon or Half Marathon this fall? The Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati will have a(n) (almost) free training program that meets from Newport on the Levee at 7:00 AM that will get you to the start and to the finish.... Interested contact Terry Elliott for details.
    Long Run Training

  • RCGC Speed Training Program - The RCGC is currently hosting a speed program for beginners and intermediate runners and run/walkers on Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM at Tower Park in Ft. Thomas until Thursday August 4. Those interested in improving your race times, speed, agility, and strength, come out and join us on the track! Speed workouts include 400 & 800 repeats, mile repeats, ladders, timed 1 mile runs, and more. Speedplay adds variety to your weekly workouts, helps improve your race time, and helps you become a physically and mentally stronger runner. Brian Rohne Race
  Saturday August 13, 2011 7:00 PM
Brian Rohne was the most valuable athlete for the Men's Cross Country team at Northern Kentucky University in 1992. Brian was fatally injured in January 1993 on a training run and the race is held in his name. The race raises money for the Northern Kentucky University Cross Country team. Pre-registration is $20.00 which includes a shirt. For Runners' Club members, pre-registration is $15.00 which includes a shirt. Race Day is $25 with the shirt while supplies last.

  • PLACE: Albright Health Center, Northern Kentucky University, Highland Heights KY
  • DISTANCE: 5k.
  • COST: $20 Pre-registration(includes T- shirt). RCGC Members/ 18 & Under $15 with T-shirt. Race Day Registration is $25(T-shirt included while supplies last). Get the flier or register online.

Club Calendar
 
Check out the club calendar for Cincinnati Road Races. It includes 5Ks, 10Ks, Marathons, Half Marathons, and just about any other distance that you could imagine running. It includes Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati events, and a few regional and national races but mainly Cincinnati and Northern KY local road races.
