Another Book Spine Gets Painted!
In July, long time Shepherdstown residents and devoted library supporters
Jean Neely and Fran Brolle were asked to paint the next $30,000 spine on our increasingly
colorful outdoor book-o-meter. This most recent artistry marks over $480,000 raised since
we took our campaign public a little over one year ago.

The Library Welcomes New Children's Librarian
Tara Carlisle
Tara and her family recently moved to the Shepherdstown area from Cape May, New Jersey where she worked as a Children's Librarian for the Cape May County Library System at their Lower Township and Court House branches. Tara has completed her coursework with Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis for her Master's in Library Science, specializing in Youth Services . She acquired her undergraduate degree in Humanities from Washington State University with concentrations in History and English.
Tara's husband Jason retired from the Coast Guard after 22 years of service and now works at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg. Tara and Jason have three daughters, Maia, Sabyn, and Lilah.

Says Tara, "I have worked with children in both professional and volunteer capacities over the past 20 years. I look forward to meeting everyone and to serving the needs of the Shepherdstown community as their Children's Librarian."
