Good Afternoon,
The Marshall Park project is underway, and there will be a new park in San Gabriel this summer.

Here's what else is going on in San Gabriel this week.
City breaks ground on Marshall Park
The first new parkland in 20 years will be complete by summer
Last week, city officials held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Marshall Park project, which will bring the city its first new parkland in nearly two decades.

The 2.4 acre park will include a walking/jogging path, multi-purpose areas, a synthetic turf field, picnic shelters, playground areas, outdoor fitness equipment, restrooms and security lighting.

The long-awaited neighborhood park will be open by this summer.

  News from City Hall
Santa is coming to town, keep an eye out
Santa is coming to town, so residents should keep an eye out for the jolly man riding through their neighborhood Dec. 20-23.

The San Gabriel Fire Department will escort Santa through every city street, riding on the historic 1957 Mack Fire Engine. Santa will be out between 5:30-9:30 p.m. each night.

On Dec. 20 he will be in the southwest corner of the city, on Dec. 21 in the southeast, on Dec. 22 in the northwest and on Dec. 23 in the northeast.

New Playhouse marquee up and running
The brand new marquee outside the Mission Playhouse is up and running, displaying theater information on a new LED message board.

The new sign replaces an outdated marquee that was in need of repair. The marquee now has historically appropriate architecture and modern features. It is just awaiting a few final touches before it will be completely finished.
