April 13, 2018
As most of you know, the American Canyon City Council has appointed me City Manager . I am humbled by the Council’s faith in me and grateful for the chance to lead this organization. As the City’s former Public Works Director/City Engineer, I am keenly aware of the challenges facing our community, and I am excited for the opportunities that lie ahead. Please join the Council and me next Tuesday April 17 at 6:30pm for my swearing-in ceremony.

Of course we can’t do it alone. As we celebrated last weekend at the  19th Annual Community Recognition Ball , American Canyon is blessed to have so many community partners. Below is an image shared by one such partner, the  American Canyon Chamber of Commerce . They have enlisted the services of renowned photographer Bob McClenahan to capture images city-wide for use in promotional materials, and this one stopped me in my tracks. It was taken just before sunrise from the top of Oat Hill, and to me it symbolizes the awakening of American Canyon and my new beginning here.

Among my initial tasks is to begin a “listening tour”. In the upcoming weeks, I will be meeting with various community groups and I encourage American Canyon residents and businesses to share their thoughts with me. My ears are open to your ideas, so please stop by my office at City Hall to say “hello”, and I will do the same!
