CeleBRAMPTON Kick-off to summer in the city! On Saturday, June 13, from 11 am to 4 pm, CeleBRAMPTON 2015 will kick off summer in Downtown Brampton. This free event attracted more than 35,000 Brampton residents and visitors last year with a variety of activities and fun for the entire family. This year, the exciting lineup of activities includes:
- live entertainment in Ken Whillans Square
- a Kids' Zone in Gage Park
- the ever-popular BMX Stunt Zone on Main Street North
- a Community Village on Main Street South
- Info City booths on Main Street South
- free BBQ in Garden Square

Budget 2015 Approved After extensive public engagement and budget deliberations, City Council unanimously approved a budget that, when combined with the Region and Education (school boards) portions, will result in an overall property tax increase of 3.26 per cent. New Second Units Policies On April 22, City Council approved new policies permitting second units in detached, semi-detached and townhouse dwellings in Brampton, subject to meeting zoning requirements. Second units provide Brampton residents with an affordable housing option. In order to ensure they are safe, legal and livable, they must be registered with the City. Registration begins June 22. Construction has begun on a large LED screen near the corner of Queen and Main Streets.
