City of El Paso to Sponsor Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. vs. Andy Lee
Boxing Match at the Sun Bowl
El Paso, Texas - The City of El Paso and the El Paso Convention and Visitors Bureau are
pleased to announce the unanimous approval by the City Council to partner with Top Rank, Inc.
as a sponsor of the June 16, 2012 World Middleweight Championship fight between Julio Cesar
Chavez, Jr. and Andy Lee at the Sun Bowl Stadium.
Economic impact associated with the boxing match is over $4.5 million and approximately 400
persons associated with the event production will travel to El Paso, spending money on airfare,
hotels, food, entertainment, rental cars, etc. Additionally hundreds of temporary jobs associated
with the event will be created, an estimated 2,000-3,000 boxing fans will travel into El Paso
from other cities, and more than 40,000 spectators are expected to attend the event.
The event will be televised to a worldwide audience of over 170 foreign countries, will be
available to over one (1) billion homes, and live in Mexico on TV Azteca, with an estimated
audience of 20 million. State-side, the fight will be televised LIVE on HBO and will be
rebroadcast three to four times, with an estimated US viewership of over 4 million. Chavez
Jr.'s last two bouts have been the two highest rated boxing events on HBO in the last five
years and his last bout was seen by over 1.8 million HBO viewers.

audience," said William Blaziek, General Manager of the El Paso Convention and Visitors
Bureau. "We are excited as is the El Paso community to have this fight secured for El Paso, to
show the world who we are and what we can do."
The terms of the sponsorship include:
. Fight will be held at the Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas
. City of El Paso logo placement within the ring, two corner pads, ring mat and overhead
. Banner identification throughout the stadium
. Live mentions from Ring Announcer
. Opportunity to supply B-roll for showcase on HBO (at HBO's discretion)
. Use of Sun Bowl field space for VIP reception*
. Use of Captain's Club for reception*
. $25,000 value in tickets to the event for use in sponsor packages
. Sponsorship fee - $350,000
. Event expense support fee - $150,000
. Ticket revenues in excess of $2M will be shared with the City up to $150,000
. Total financial commitment - $500,000
