Project Update - Ashmead Drive Street Infiltration

Last Fall, the City of Gahanna completed the Ashmead Drive project. The project is an innovative stormwater
design that combines pervious pavement with underground storage chambers.

Storm water runoff infiltrates the  chambers where it is stored and slowly released back into the receiving stream. This unique paving and technique help  to reduce flows into the Souder Ditch Creek which in turn reduce downstream bank erosion, the chance of flooding,  and enhances water quality.
