West Side Intersection Improvement Open House

The community is invited to attend an open house on
Thursday, January 26, 2017, from 5 -7 p.m. at Gahanna City Hall (200 S. Hamilton Road). The purpose of this public input meeting is to review and comment on possible solutions to help address traffic congestion and to improve safety at the intersections of Stygler Rd. with Agler Rd. and US-62 and the surrounding areas. 

Council Seeking to Fill Vacancy on Planning Commission

Gahanna City Council is seeking residents to fill a vacant seat on Planning Commission. Members are required to be a resident of the City of Gahanna. Planning Commission oversees various applications submitted to the Zoning Division, maps and plans for future development, and other duties as prescribed in the City Charter and City Code. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, January 25, 2017, by 5 p.m.

Plan Now for Camp Registration Day!

Register for Gahanna summer camp programs  on February 25 from 9 a.m. to noon at Gahanna City Hall (200 S. Hamilton Road). Registering early allows you to make installment payments and receive early bird prices.  Look for complete camp information in the 2017 Spring-Summer Gateway available mid-February.
Economic Development Update
Year in Review

Business attraction, retention and job growth became the primary focus for the Planning and Development team under the leadership of Mayor Tom Kneeland. The Planning and Development Department was reorganized to allow staff to focus on job growth in targeted industry areas of the city.

In 2016, the Planning and Development team completed 22 projects, which will create or retain over 1600 jobs and lead to approximately $75 million in capital investment in the city.

Senior Center Open House February 6

Looking to get more involved and meet new people? Visit the Gahanna Senior Center (480 Rocky Fork Blvd.), during one of its monthly Open House events, held every first Monday (except holidays) from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Take a tour of the facility and learn about the center's programs and services.  

Gahanna Art Spotlight - Two Artists
Display and Art Sale

 
Throughout the month of January, fine art from Two Artists will be featured in the lobby and second floor of Gahanna City Hall (200 S. Hamilton Rd.) and is available for purchase.

Two Artists is comprised of Rex Brown and Jennifer Jolley Brown, a married couple offering two unique artistic styles. Rex specializes in oil, acrylic, encaustic paintings and copper enameling. While Jennifer specializes in calligraphy, printmaking, and watercolor.

Gahanna Featured in Columbus Monthly

The January 2017 edition of Columbus Monthly magazine features Gahanna in its suburban section.

The special supplement highlights Gahanna's tranquil neighborhoods, economic development, schools, attractions and much more.

Copies of this supplement may be found in the January 2017 edition of Columbus Monthly and obtained at Gahanna City Hall (200 S. Hamilton Rd.), Gahanna/John E. Bickley YMCA and the Gahanna Branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library.

CVB Annual Breakfast Meeting

The community is invited to attend the Gahanna Ohio Convention & Visitors Bureau Annual Breakfast meeting on Thursday, February 23 from 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. at  La Navona (154 N. Hamilton Rd.)  

The theme of this year's event is Performing with Purpose and will feature The Ohio State University Director of Athletics Gene Smith as the keynote speaker.

Volunteer Spotlight: Make Gahanna Yours

Established in March 2016, Make Gahanna Yours is a citizen-driven, volunteer- based nonprofit committed to identifying and implementing projects that promote the quality of life in Gahanna.

In its first year, the committee placed nearly 300 flags in the city's medians and baskets on the Big Walnut bridge. Make Gahanna Yours also added a little sparkle this past holiday season with the installation of lighted wreaths in Olde Gahanna and worked with the Gahanna Rotary to light the arch entryway into the city.
