City to Issue RFP for New Web Redesign

In an effort to enhance the website user experience, the City of Gahanna has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP).  The City is seeking a qualified firm to help create a more responsive, user-centric, and mobile optimized website that is easy to navigate and will incorporate new branding.  Qualified firms are encouraged to apply.  The deadline for all proposals is November 21 by 5 p.m.

Construction Updates: U.S. Rt. 62 & 
Hamilton Rd.

U.S. Route 62 Resurfacing
Paving on U.S. Route 62 is scheduled to take place on Friday, October 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. (weather permitting) and the work is expected to last until Friday, October 21, 2016.  Major delays are expected to occur during rush hour and motorists are encouraged to plan their route accordingly.

Hamilton Road Central Updates
Good news! Hamilton Road is progressing ahead of schedule. Crews are working quickly to complete base paving operations this Fall on Hamilton Rd.  If weather permits, the goal is to complete all curb and base paving operations on Hamilton Road and have both roundabouts functioning by November 30, 2016. 

As time and weather allow this Fall and as we move into Winter, the contractor will continue to work to complete remaining concrete work for driveways and sidewalks, while all final restoration and surface asphalt will be completed in the Spring/Summer of 2017.

Economic Development Updates

Since taking office, Mayor Kneeland has made business retention and growth a top priority to help attract and keep businesses in Gahanna.  To date, Mayor Kneeland and the City's Economic Development team have visited  nearly 100 businesses.

This year, the Development Team has completed 19 projects. These completed projects will create or retain 1,483 jobs and lead to approximately $71 million in capital investment in the city.

Creepside Festival Returns with New Day, Activities

Put on your costumes, dress up the kids and join us for the 13th Annual Creepside Festival throughout Creekside and Olde Gahanna.

This fun, family friendly Halloween-themed event will take place Saturday, October 22, from 1- 5 p.m and will feature a trick or treat trail along Mill Street with more than 50 local businesses and organizations passing out lots of treats.

Vote 2016: Gahanna Citizens to Vote on 9 Charter Amendments

On November 8, Gahanna Citizens will have an opportunity to not only select our next President of the United States, but to also vote on nine proposed charter amendments.

Gahanna Art Spotlight -  Britt Hallowell Studios

Each month, artists from the community are featured on the first and second floors of City Hall. This month, Britt Hallowell Studios is our featured artist. 

Britt Hallowell is an award-winning artist who has been featured in advertising campaigns, galleries, restaurants and personal collections around the world.  Britt describes her art as being "minimalist and figurative in nature with organic themes such as animals and trees." Britt's artwork will be on display until November 2016.

Light Up Gahanna this Holiday Season

Help make our downtown shine this Holiday season!  Make Gahanna Yours is working to bring back yet another Gahanna tradition -- sparkling holiday wreaths adorning the streetlights in Olde Gahanna - and they need your help.  Volunteers are needed to decorate wreaths and donations are being accepted for supplies.
Veterans Day Brick Dedication

The community is invited to attend the annual Veterans Memorial Brick Dedication on Friday, November 11 at 11 a.m.  The event will take place at Veterans Memorial Park located at 73 W. Johnstown Rd. This year's theme, "Women Veterans - The Unknown Soliders," will honor women in the
military. 
2016 Holiday Lights Celebration

Mark your calendars for Sunday, November 20 for the return of the annual Holiday Lights Celebration. Hosted by the Gahanna Convention & Visitors Bureau, this event promises to be more exciting than ever. Get ready for five hours of festive family fun! Experience 60+ free activities, including a reindeer petting zoo, pony rides and much more.
