CITY NEWS
Franklin County Launches New Mass Notification System

Currently, the City of Gahanna utilizes CodeRED to provide emergency notifications and warnings about important events to its citizens. Now, Gahanna citizens will have the option to sign up to receive alerts about emergencies and other community news through ALERT Franklin County -- Franklin County's new mass notification & warning system.

ALERT Franklin County provides important information directly to you via text message, email, mobile phone, home phone and work phone.   The system is customizable and allows you to choose what kind of community notifications you want to receive, how you would like to receive them and the location you want to receive them for.

Users may elect to receive emergency notifications about severe weather and disasters, as well as location specific information regarding crime alerts, road closures, transportation incidents, utility outages, government closings and other important community news.

The City of Gahanna will fully transition into the ALERT Franklin County on June 30, 2016 at the conclusion of our CodeRED contract. Once the contract has ended, we will no longer offer CodeRED as an option to citizens. Those who currently receive notifications from CodeRED may still continue to receive alerts until such time or they may opt out and sign up for the new mass notification system.

To register for ALERT notifications, click on the "Register for ALERT Franklin County" under the "I want to..." section on the homepage of the City of Gahanna's  website  and follow the prompts. Click  here  to learn more about ALERT Franklin County.
