CITY NEWS
THANKSGIVING MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR

We have so much to be thankful for in our Gahanna community this holiday season!  With Thanksgiving upon us, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on all the blessings we receive living here in this wonderful community, and to urge everyone to also think of those in our neighborhoods less fortunate than ourselves.  I feel truly blessed to have been given the privilege of Mayor for the last 14 years, and having the chance to get to know so many of you and your families personally.  There are so many people here who give of themselves every day, to do so many things, big and small, to make Gahanna the place we are so proud to call home.

I am very thankful to have the honor of working with truly dedicated City employees, who are committed to providing the best possible service to our citizens.  We are equally grateful to have a city council who is devoted to meeting the needs of their constituents. While our work at City Hall is important, the real strength of our community comes from each of you, our citizens.  We appreciate your passion, commitment and support as we work together to create a vibrant and sustainable city.

As you gather with friends, family and loved ones to celebrate this holiday, let us be mindful of those who are less fortunate in our community. I encourage you to think about how you can be a blessing to someone else. Whether it's gifting a meal, volunteering or making a donation to GRIN, let us continue to support those who may be in need this holiday season.  Let us also be mindful of our first responders working tirelessly to keep us safe.  Let us continue to pray for our men and women in our armed services, who courageously risk their lives to protect our borders at home and strive for peace abroad.

As a reminder, City Hall will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27, 2015.  Regular business hours will resume on Monday, November 30, 2015.

Wishing you and your family a safe, restful and Happy Thanksgiving!

Tis the season of giving! Over the past two years, GRIN has nearly tripled the amount of meals it provides to individuals and families in Gahanna. Additionally, they have increased their programming to help clients become more self-sufficient and financially solvent.

For the first time ever, GRIN (Gahanna Residents in Need) is hosting a "BIG GIVE" campaign drive.  From now through December 31, 2015, GRIN will be accepting monetary donations to meet its goal of raising $30,000. The funds raised will be used to better support the increasing numbers of individuals and families GRIN serves in our community.
