Fall back time change Happy Halloween, folks! In addition to being a candy-lover's favorite time of the year, this weekend also marks the end of Daylight Savings Time. And kids, here's a tip for you -- because this year the time change falls in the wee hours between Halloween and All Hallows' Day (Nov. 1), that means a whole extra hour to enjoy your Halloween haul! Just tell mom and dad to change the clocks as soon as you return home from trick-or-treating. (But don't tell them it was our idea!)

In other news, election day is drawing closer so make sure you get your ballot returned on time! Scroll down to read more.

Have creepy, happy and SAFE Halloween!

Golden Police Investigates Road Rage Incident

The Golden Police Department is investigating a road rage incident which resulted in an off-duty police officer shooting his weapon.

On Sunday October 25, the Golden Police Department received a 911 call from an off-duty police officer who was following a road rage incident. The incident was picked up in the City of Golden at eastbound 6 th Avenue from the "Junction" of Hwy 58. The road rage was occurring between a motorcyclist and the driver of a white Nissan sedan. The off-duty officer asked the 911 center if he should attempt to make a traffic stop for our agency. The dispatcher asked if the officer was in a marked unit, but before the question could be answered the phone was dropped and a female got on the line asking for police officers. Within seconds the female announced that her husband had "just shot him." The female informed the dispatcher that they were located at 19 th and 6 th Avenue.

Golden Police Officers arrived on scene quickly and started the investigation. Early information obtained indicates that the off-duty officer approached the individual driving the motorcycle on foot and identified himself with his badge. The off-duty officer was armed with a handgun. A short struggle ensued and a single shot was fired into the front end of the motorcycle. The individual on the motorcycle was not hit, but did have minor injuries to his hand from flying debris.

The off-duty officer involved in this incident is Patric Stanton, 47 years old and works for the Central City Police Department.

The motorcyclist's name is Jeremy Golden of Denver who is 31 years of age.

Please note this is an ongoing investigation and criminal charges are yet to be determined. Therefore, the 911 tapes are not going to be released at this time.

The Golden Police Department will be working in conjunction with the Jefferson County Critical Incident Response Team to complete a thorough investigation.
