City of Newark honors SHCCNJ Founder Daniel Jara
We at the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce are proud to announce that a ceremony is being held to unveil Daniel H. Jara Way! It will be on Thursday, September 17th at 1 pm at the corners of Washington & James Streets here in Newark. It is right around the Newark Museum, Public Library and Washington Park.

UPS is offering Business owners a new way to attract Customers and Generate additional Sales
Today's on-the-go shoppers may not always be at home to accept a delivery, so it's no surprise that a growing number of people prefer alternative options to home delivery.

When you become a UPS Access Point location, we can help you take advantage of e-commerce growth, even if your business doesn't have an online store.

The Number of US Businesses owned by minority women is soaring

Last week Fox News Latino reported that "the number of companies owned by Hispanic women rose 87% between 2007 and 2012, while the number of companies owned by black women rose nearly 68%, according to preliminary figures released last week by the Census Bureau and analyzed by the National Women's Business Council, a government agency. The number of businesses owned by Asian women rose 44%."

STEP Program Assists Small Businesses in Exporting
Helping small business go global is the goal of the Small Business Administration's State Trade and Export Promotion or STEP program. And now New Jersey stands to get almost half a million dollars more in STEP awards. The SBA's Regional Administrator is Kellie LeDet. She told NJTV News Anchor Mary Alice Williams that the STEP program was established to assist small businesses.

"So STEP, as you said is the State Trade Export Promotions program. This was established in 2010 by the Obama Administration and primarily to assist small businesses that already are exporting to grow their dollar value and those that are looking to export or to begin exporting," LeDet said.

Rutgers University is holding its 9th Annual Newark Business Career Fair

Rutgers - Newark is a remarkably diverse urban campus with significant numbers of first generation students who are highly motivated towards academic and career success.

It presents employers with a great chance to 'network' with current students interested specifically in Internship, Co-Op, and/or entry-level career opportunities within a business environment. You may also meet recent Rutgers-Newark Alumni who are also seeking such opportunities.

While student turnout from the Rutgers Business School is always strong, we expect that you will also meet with a considerable number of students from the College of Arts and Sciences (including Liberal Arts, Social & Behavioral Science, Natural & LIfe Sciences, Information Systems, and Technology) who are eager to put their skills to use in a challenging business setting. You may also encounter graduate level students studying here at Rutgers-Newark.
