Pavement Maintenance Demonstration Project
The City of Poulsbo will be conducting a Pavement Maintenance Demonstration Project this summer in an effort to address deteriorating neighborhood streets within the City limits. The project is intended to solicit public input, and feedback from City residents is highly encouraged.

Innovative variations of chip seal will be applied to neighborhood streets. Residents along Urdahl Rd, 9th Ave. NE, portions of 12th Ave. NE, and portions of Kevos Pond Dr. will be the first to have their declining streets addressed. Additionally, residents along Haugen St., Watland St., and remaining portions of 12th Ave. NE may be included in this year's project as well.

Bids were opened on June 19 and the apparent low bidder was Doolittle Construction with a combined bid of $299,414.30. The Superintendent of Public Works will be analyzing the budget to determine which streets will be included in this project and also will determine the schedule.

Please contact the Public Works Dept. at (360)779-4078 with any questions or comments.

Public Works Update
City staff is busy working on a Solid Waste Business Plan and will be holding a City Council workshop on July 12th at 6:00pm. We have also been demonstration different garbage trucks in order to purchase a new vehicle once the business plan is in place.

The Streets Department purchased crack sealing equipment and did a pilot project in Olhava on Olympic College Way NW. This has proven a much faster and better system than we previously had. Please go up and take look.

And, a friendly reminder that hours for watering or irrigation are between 6am-10 am and 6pm-10pm.
