It's a Leap Year, which means we have another day this month!
If you could do anything in the world with this extra day, what would you do?

Barb - Since I'm terrified to dance in front of an audience, I'd spend my extra day practicing my performance for the Alzheimer's Association Memory Ball! But I'd also love to spend the day catching up with my daughters.

Timmy - I would spend the extra day with family and friends at the beach!

Lisa -  If I could do anything, I would spend the entire day catching up on my reading -- and that would mean real books and no electronic devices to interrupt or distract me!

Dana Travel time eating into vacation is a big con when you want to go somewhere far away...so I'd use the added day to travel and get to take a longer trip!

Karen E. - If I could do anything in the world for one day, I would be with my family and friends sitting on a beautiful beach, (St John in the British Virgin Islands comes to mind :)  ) with a cold drink in my hand, Bob Marley playing in the background and the sun shining on our happy, happy faces! A good book and a game of corn hole sounds perfect too!

Karen B. If my Birthday fell on a Leap Year, I'd only age every 4 years! I would play a game of "Leap Frog" on the 29th - LOL. Maybe tackle a job or task that I would only want to do every 4 years, like clean out my basement!

Lauren - I love to be outdoors any chance I get, although I prefer it be warmer out than a typical February day in Maryland. However, if it was somehow warm outside, I would love to spend the day hiking! This past summer, I spent a weekend in Harper's Ferry, West Virginia hiking and wine tasting at the local vineyards. If I had to dream up my ideal day, that's what it would be!

Happy Birthday!

We had a great time celebrating the fabulous Timmy's birthday this month with delicious lunch and sweets!

Be sure to wish Timmy a Happy Belated Birthday when you see her!

In other staff news...

February 2016

From the Desk of Barb Clapp...
As I shared in last month's newsletter, I've decided to make this my "Year of Yes." So I'm delighted to announce that I have said "yes" to something that absolutely terrifies me -- I will be dancing in the Alzheimer's Association's 10th Annual Memory Ball Dancing Stars event on April 16! I have always loved to dance but was overwhelmingly shy as a child and couldn't imagine putting myself in front of an audience as a dancer. I knew this would be an incredible challenge, but when I thought about all the mothers and fathers of my dear friends who have suffered with Alzheimer's disease and the impact it has had on their families, how could I say no? All proceeds from the Memory Ball will help fund the Alzheimer's Association's support services and their ongoing critical research for a cure. You can show your support for this event by buying a table, a ticket, donating online, sponsoring or just spreading the word. A $1 donation = 1 vote! Thank you so much for any and all support!
