The results are in!
Last month, we had our holiday door decorating contest and you voted for the winner.
The winner is...
Door #1 - You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch, decorated by Barb, Lisa, and Lauren! Thanks to everyone who participated in our fun contest!
Did you know that January is National Get Organized Month?!
What do you do to keep your life organized?
Barb - I am a Virgo! So of course I am organized. It is in my DNA.
Timmy - I keep my life organized with LISTS - shopping list, to-do list, errand list - hand written and electronic. I love to scratch things off or delete!
Lisa - I definitely like to use lists to keep organized as well - see the "Shit List!" But seriously, I don't think things have to look organized to be organized. I have random piles on my desk that other people may not understand, but I know where everything is. So maybe you would call it organized chaos...
Dana
- I write everything down
! And I have specific days when I (try) to do certain chores like laundry or vacuuming.
Karen E. -
I keep myself organized by writing everything down. I have notes and lists everywhere. On my bedside table I keep a notepad where I jot down ideas and things to do. On my cell phone, I use the Reminders, Notes and Calendar features to keep me on time and organized. I also am a big believer in the little sticky pad at work where I write down things I think are important that day. Lastly, I always use the Task feature on Outlook on my computer. For me, writing it down is my key to staying on top of things.
Karen B. - In our family, we have multiple sports schedules to juggle, so our challenge has been to find the best method to post everything in one easy place, vs our personal appointment books or calendars. We have decided to use Google calendar for this. Also, I find that "de-cluttering" spaces in our home helps us get organized and get rid of excess items!
Lauren - I couldn't stay organized without my Erin Condren life planner. I use it for my work and personal to-do lists and carry it with me everywhere I go. I love that you can personalize the planner however you want too. My planner is green with pineapples, which has taken my organization obsession to a whole new level!
Happy Birthday!
We had a great time celebrating Karen E.'s birthday this past month with treats from La Cakerie!
This month, we are celebrating Timmy's birthday on January 10!
Make sure to wish her a
Happy Birthday!

January 2016
From the Desk of Barb Clapp...
Rather than making new year's resolutions this year, I decided to make 2016 my year of "yes!" My inspiration for this year's outlook comes from Shonda Rhimes' book "Year of Yes." The idea is to say yes to things that are hard or that terrify you. I have always believed that it's the "hard things that make it great" when it actually comes to fruition. Keeping an open mind and saying "yes" can help you embrace whatever life throws at you. I'm striving to challenge myself and I'm challenging everyone to make it your year of "yes" too.
Have a Peace Filled and Happy New Year!
Barb
