The spookiest day of the year is this month! Tell us about your all-time favorite Halloween costume!

Barb - I won a costume contest in high school for my homemade Raggedy Ann costume. I made every piece of the costume including a red yarn wig. It looked just like this including the red striped legs.

Lisa When I was growing up in the 70s, the Halloween costumes you bought in the store were basically plastic ponchos with horrible plastic face masks attached to your head with really tight elastic. They made for a hard time seeing and breathing! My mom would always make my costumes, from a pink furry bunny suit to a "hobo" - which these days would be extremely politically incorrect!

Timmy -  I loved coming up with Halloween costumes for my children - Hulk Hogan, Spice Girls, Sonny & Cher, Bay Watch babes to name a few.  One of my favorites was a cheerleader costume I sewed for my daughter - of course I made her a Terp cheerleader!

Dana My mom always had fun costumes for my brother and me. She made him a Domino's Pizza delivery man costume, an AAMCO employee, and one year a TV set. I had lots of memorable costumes, but her favorite was me in this pumpkin one WAY back. She tried to make me wear this at least three years in a row because she thought it was so cute.

Karen E. -  This is definitely one of my favorite costumes.  Who doesn't love a Bawlmer hon? :)

Karen B. These are my favorite Halloween costumes....for my twins Joey and Gigi. Not original, but easy since I don't sew!

Leslie - The best costume I never got to wear was my Candy Crush creation. I spent hours cutting and coloring the little pieces to cover me from head to toe and my (now) husband drew the sad heart when your lives expire on a sandwich board. But a torrential rain kept us from going anywhere on Halloween and of course, by the next year, the Candy Crush craze had passed.

Lauren -  When I was 8 years old, I was the flower girl in my cousin's wedding. Of course I wanted an excuse to wear the dress again, so my mom suggested being an angel for Halloween. All I had to do was add the wings and a halo and I was one happy little girl!

Britt - I'm not sure I can narrow down my favorite costume because all of the Halloween horse show creations were so incredible. Over the years there was a Runaway Bride costume, a lady Guinevere costume, a Baltimore Hon costume, an I love Lucy Costume, a Bonnie and Clyde costume, and a Superman and Wonder Woman costume.

Happy Birthday!

October 1 was Lauren's birthday. Make sure to wish her a Happy Birthday when you see her!

October 2015

From the Desk of Barb Clapp...
I have always loved the creativity and energy that surrounds Halloween. Throughout my life I have hand sewn my own and my children's Halloween costumes. I even made costumes for my daughter's horses when they competed in the annual Halloween horse show at her barn! This imaginative mindset has carried over into my work at Clapp Communications. Every employee we have thinks creatively and outside the box. We apply our ingenuity each and every day to all of the work that we do.
Happy Halloween!
Barb
